Archive for Freemiums

We’ve been talking about the various way solo professionals can “package” their knowledge as a website “freemium” or free information product. We’ve already discussed Special Reports, Client Kits, Mp3 recordings, Interview Transcripts, Books and e-Books. Today the focus is on using an email course to attract clients online.

An email course uses a simple autoresponder series to send out class modules or chapters on a schedule. This allows you to present a wider array of material because your potential Dream Client receives it in smaller, bite-sized chunks of information.

Offering a basic email course in your practice area is a good way for your potential Dream Clients to get information about common topics and how you view the subject. As a therapist you could send out a short email course on dealing with depression. It may include a list of activities that produce endorphins. You can make it seasonal by adding some information pertaining to the holidays and you have 2 freemiums. :)

Your potential Dream Clients are out there searching for information right now. Take advantage of their web surfing to reposition yourself as “the go-to expert” by offering freemiums on your professional practice website.

Book Freemium

Posted by: Pamela S. Wynn | Comments (0)

Many solo professionals are also authors. If you have a book, using it as a Freemium is a great idea. But even if you don’t have a book now, with a blog you can have a book in little time – one post at a time. That’s something I teach you how to do in the Tech Therapy Action Group.

As an author, you are automatically perceived as an expert in your practice area. This is the freemium with the highest perceived value by your potential clients. But because it is a more expensive item to create and ship, the first advice is to use your book as a freemium for someone who becomes a client or enrolls in one of your groups.

It’s said that the more information you ask of people the less likely they are to enroll. Because the book must be shipped, you will also need to collect your potential client’s shipping address. I don’t think this is a big barrier since it’s not likely that people will actually become your client over the internet, but it is possible if you give them a way to do so.

Another benefit of being an author and using your book as a freemium, you can link to your book on Amazon.com and other websites where your book has received great reviews. As you try to build incoming links to your blog and website, keep in mind that outgoing links also count in search engine optimization.

We’ve been talking about the various way solo professionals can “package” their knowledge as website a “freemium” or free information product. We’ve already discussed Special Reports, Client Kits, Mp3 recordings and e-Books. Today the focus is on Interview Transcripts.

An interview transcript is a great freemium for service professionals. Keeping with the theme of “re-purposing” or reformatting your knowledge, an interview can be both recorded for an Mp3 recording AND transcribed for written transcript.

Different people like their information presented in different ways, so it’s okay to have more than one format. People who like to read will prefer an Interview Transcript.

Also think about who your Dream Clients are because it may influence which formats you choose. I’m old enough to say that, as a rule, the older your Dream Client is, the less interested in downloading audio and video he or (especially) she is.

An interview transcript not only allows you position yourself as an expert and thought leader in your practice area, but it allows you to speak directly to your Dream Client. Remember to always speak to your Dream Clients because they are the ones you want to attract.

You can use a freelance service or your assistant to do the actual transcription. Once you have the document, make sure it is in PDF format and, viola! – your information product is ready to upload so your Dream Clients can download your free gift of an Interview Transcript.

Using eBooks to Attract Clients

Posted by: Pamela S. Wynn | Comments (0)

As a service professional, you can use an autoresponder system to send out “freemiums” like special reports and recordings. One great freemium to offer your potential clients is an eBook about a topic in your practice area.

With all the knowledge you have from your years of practice, you can write an eBook in a few hours. You can even develop the book by writing the chapters as blog posts. Repurposing your information this way really leverages your time and knowledge.

Once you have decided on your objectives and your Dream Client profile, you will have a good idea of the type of information your Dream Clients are looking for early in their decision-making process. Use your existing materials to provide information that is valuable. Then you can turn it into a PDF document that your subscribers can download when they opt-in to your email system.

Remember that clients need to be reminded about your services at least 7 times before they will pick up the phone to make an appointment. Take advantage of this time by offering your potential Dream Clients the information they want. That’s how your practice will start to get found online.
