What is ALT Text?
Posted by: | CommentsWhen you add a picture to your blog there is a line for “ALT text.” If you don’t use any, you are asked if you’re sure you don’t want to add it. ” With more people accessing the internet from mobile devices, ALT text is becoming more important. What is it and why the focus on Alt text?” you may ask.
ALT text is the text description that appears when your reader has images turned off or uses a mobile device that doesn’t display images. If you use Gmail or an iphone, you have seen alt text displayed. If you use a logo, you want to have alt text with your company name in it so that the description is displayed. On your reader’s screen it will appear as something like “My_Company_Logo.” Add a bit of SEO to your email or blog post by paying attention to your ALT text.

3 Sources of Endless Blog Content
Posted by: | CommentsI just finished a 30 day blog challenge with my DIY Divorce in Florida blog. This particular challenge involved writing at least 30 posts with a minimum of 150 words in 30 days. Many people have been asking how I can come up with so many posts when I’ve been writing the blog for more than2 years.
Here are my 3 sources of unending content for my blogs:
- Blogging calendar – each year I make a plan with topics for each month. Then I start adding possible post topics and flesh it out.
- Read other blogs – not so much to rehash their topics, but to generate ideas related to what others are writing about or to synthesize overall trends or compare different schools of thought.
- Blog analytics – just look at what your readers are searching for and start writing. This is a rich source of material for a more mature blog because the readers are honing in on narrower inquiries as time goes on.
The calendar keeps me on track in an overall fashion. Other blogs generate ideas and my readers always supply a different variation to what I’ve written about previously. Week after week I use these 3 sources of blog content to keep writing posts.
