Do you schedule marketing time on your calendar? I think marketing time needs to be a standard appointment on your schedule; otherwise, it gets too easy to set it aside. When I set things aside, I don’t do them until they become critical. That is NOT how you want to market your practice.

Marketing your practice needs to be done on a consistent basis to be truly successful. So many times we market until we have clients to fill the holes in our schedules and then we stop marketing until Read More→

Here are four ways to start building organic links to your website. This is a good mix for local service professionals:

Directories - Professional associations, online communities and forums, business directories, and the like can all provide good links to your site. Your listing should be optimized for search so you get the full link benefit. If you pay for a directory link, make sure there is sufficient traffic to justify the cost. Don’t just assume it’s cheaper than pay-per-click.

Press Releases – Writing and submitting press releases online gets your news in front of additional people and builds another link to your site. Be sure to use newsworthy events and information to get the best results.

Blogs – Build internal links by linking to relevant pages on your site from your blog – or within your blog itself. You can also guest blog on other related blogs to increase your inbound links naturally.

Article Marketing – Post articles about your services and solutions on online e-zine article sites. In your resource box, link back to a relevant page on your site or blog. Be sure to add a good title so that it’s more likely your article will be published by others – creating another link to your site.

These methods are referred to as “natural” or “organic” growth and take some time to grow. Start building links now so you can maximize their natural growth cycle.  When you are new online, don’t pay for links, build links organically.

“Repurposing,” or reworking your existing files and materials can help you produce online content for your website and blog. Remember, the more content you have online, the more you will get found online. So creating articles, blog posts and website content are all extremely important to getting your practice website found online.

One of the biggest concerns therapists have with online marketing is that it will take too much time to write content. By using material that you already have – whether in your head or your old files – you can easily create repurposed content for your online marketing efforts.

Repurposing simply means taking material written or complied for one purpose, like a seminar, and using for a different purpose, like an online article. Of course, with any repurposing you will have to adjust the content to fit its new intended purpose. This editing can be done much easier and faster than creating new content.

Just think of all the information you have in your files right now. There’s a website or a year’s worth of blog content at the touch of your fingertips. With some simple editing, you will have articles and blog posts and even a video series. Using repurposed content like this can get your practice found online.

Article marketing is a simple way to showcase your expertise. It is the fastest and easiest way to
reposition your practice online and build a presence on the Web. When you demonstrate your expertise to potential clients by giving them a written sample (your article), you can tap into more of your Dream Clients.

You can demonstrate how you approach issues and problem solve through your article. Your Dream Clients will resonate with your approach. You can leverage these web visitors by having a high quality "resource box" at the end of your article.

What is a resource box? A resource box is at the end of an article and directs people how to get more information – by visiting your website or blog. And a REALLY good one just seems part of the article itself.

Article marketing sites get millions of online visitors searching for information and looking for articles to republish. That's right. Not only do individuals looking for information search the web, anyone with an e-zine or online newsletter needs content for it. They look for content on article marketing sites.

When the article is republished from an article marketing website, the terms of use require your resource box stay with the article. So, republishing means not only is your article is seen by an even larger audience, in many cases, it's delivered right to their inbox.

This web traffic doesn't come from an expensive ad campaign. In fact, it's free except for the time you invest in writing the article.Think about the
ultimate benefit: you write an article, people who read it and want more inforamtion click over to your website or blog.

Jeff Herring, a former therapist, has had fabulous results from article marketing. For
example, he has one article that has consistently
brought in 1500 new prospects a month for the last four
years
. Let's do the
math: 1500 new visitors per month = 18,000 new potential clients each year.

And that's just
one article written over 4 years ago. Imagine what
you could do with 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 or more articles out
there working for you 24/7. Year after year. That's why to reposition your practice online, you must include article marketing.
