Do It Yourself  Divorce in Florida

DIY Divorce in Florida blog

Successfully Small

Ever since I was a little kid, I liked learning how things work and fit together. My brother took things apart while I put them back together and made them work. While some may argue that as a divorce lawyer, I’ve been taking marriages apart, my real passion is teaching and learning how things work- whether it’s teaching regular people how to put a divorce case together or paralegal students about civil procedure.
Some of my do-it-yourself projects through the years have included renovating a 1929 Spanish-style house, building a successful online business without any paid advertising, putting together my own website and (finally) WordPress blog, and learning how to lay tile.

None of my DIY projects have included anything like Peter the Great’s self-dentistry, or any other health procedure for that matter. I saw his dental instruments when I visited Russia in September 2001.  I have also studied alternative medicine, primarily homeopathy, for more than two decades.

I’ve also done things that sound much more adventurous than they seemed at the time, like quitting law school to lobby for the Equal Rights Amendment and moving to Costa Rica to teach English at the age of 47. Through it all I have learned that the only thing I have control over is my attitude. I like learning how to get things done and I love teaching you what I discover in my journey.

While developing the DIY Divorce site and blog, I had to learn much more about technology than I ever thought I could…after all, I am not a geek. I also went back to my original business background and spent time developing a system to help me define who my ideal clients are.

Along the way I also developed copywriting and search engine optimization knowledge and skills. I spent alot of time and money learning this stuff. When everything was ready to go, I had to learn how to promote it all online without breaking the bank.  And so I did. And so can you.

Now I teach other solo professionals, that means anyone with a “practice,” how to promote their practices online, even if they don’t have a website, using relationship building techniques and online technology.
